The Battle on the Border: High School Football Showcase

The Battle on the Border is Over for 2012

Congratulations to the C.E. Byrd High School Yellowjackets on their 49–28 win over the Marshall High School Mavericks,
and to the Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers on their 40–29 win over the West Monroe High School Rebels!

All four teams did a great job! If you missed it, you missed not just one, but two exciting games, and other wonderful events as well.

The Battle on the Border-High School Football Showcase will be the second high school football showcase ever to be played in Independence Stadium (2011’s inauguaral The Battle on the Border was the first). This historic sporting event will highlight some of the top high school football programs in the southern region and country. The showcase will take place at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, LA (home of the AdvoCare V-100 Independence Bowl) on Saturday, September 8, 2012. The quality of powerhouse high school football teams selected and their respective fan base will surely take high school football in this region to new heights. The City of Shreveport envisions the Battle on the Border-High School Football Showcase to become a model in bringing wholesome athletic events to Independence Stadium and this region.
